What is Mobile Number Portability (MNP)?
Mobile Number Portability enables customers to keep their mobile number when moving to a new network provider. Rather than changing their contact number, the existing one is transferred from the current (DSP - Donor Service Provider) network to the new one (RSP - Recipient Service Provider).
The UK MNP process is regulated by OFCOM under the General Conditions of Entitlement. As a provider of Electronic Communications Network or Service with numbers from the National Telephone Numbering Plan, you are classified as a "Regulated Provider" and are obligated to comply with MNP regulations.
eSIM Go provides support for our API partners to comply with this mandate. We have integrated to the centralised UK number portability switching system and offer all the required API-based services to full functionality.
eSIM Go will support any such requests as a back-end process only: since all requests require commercial information to be provided to the subscriber.
For further information on the requirement for supporting number portability please refer to the Ofcom General Conditions of Entitlement which are available from their website.
