Whether you’re on Android or Apple, the first thing you need to do is to check if your phone is eSIM compatible and it also has to be network unlocked. Additionally, you’ll need a stable internet connection (preferably WiFi).
Subsequently, you can either:
- Scan the QR Code for automatic installation
- Manually install your eSIM
Installing using the QR Code is the easiest way.
Install your eSIM using the QR code (iOS)
1. Go to settings > mobile data
2. Click on ‘Add eSIM’ and select use QR code
3. Scan the QR code and enter the 4-digit confirmation code if it is requested
4. Label your eSIM and select ‘cellular data only’ under the default line page
5. You should now see your eSIM under "Mobile Data"
Install your eSIM using the QR code (Android)
1. Go to Phone Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
2. Tap the “+” icon to the right of the “SIMs” option
3. Tap the “Download a SIM instead?” option at the bottom
4. The subsequent page will read “Download your SIM”, click on “Next” and you will see “Checking network info…” on the next screen
5. After the checking process is done, you will see a box which you can use to scan your QR code
6. Point the box at a printed copy of the QR code or use another device to display the QR code. Make sure that the QR code is located within the box.
7. Once the QR code scanning is done, your device will check for info again
8. Tap download to confirm the eSIM that you’re adding and then the device will start downloading the eSIM data
9. Once the eSIM has been successfully downloaded and installed, you will see “Download Finished” on your screen
10. Don't forget to set up the eSIM to access the internet once you’re ready.
