A monthly plan renews on the same date and at the same time every month, based on when the plan was first assigned to the eSIM.
If a plan is assigned on the 12th at 9:00am, it renews on the 12th at 9:00am each month after that.
Shorter months
There is one exception. If a plan is assigned near the end of the month and the following month does not have that date, the plan renews on the last day of that month instead.
This does not shift the renewal date permanently. The plan returns to its original date the following month.
Example
A plan assigned on 31 January at 2:00pm renews as follows:
| Renewal | Date and time |
| 1st | 28 February, 2:00pm |
| 2nd | 31 March, 2:00pm |
| 3rd | 30 April, 2:00pm |
| 4th | 31 May, 2:00pm |
February and April are short, so those renewals fall on the last day of the month. March and May both have a 31st, so the renewal returns to it.
In a leap year, the February renewal in this example would fall on the 29th.
Why this matters
The renewal date is anchored to the original assignment date so renewal dates won’t drift earlier over time. The renewal time stays the same throughout, including in months where the date moves.
